Is it normal for a cat to play fetch?

I have a little kitten about three months old who's favorite toy is a stuffed mouse. One day i threw the mouse, he ran after it and brought it back to me. I threw it again and we did this for a while, he was so cute! He would run back with the mouse and drop it at my side and stare at me. Have any of your cats done this?
